Chiropractic
Dr. Glass provides safe and effective spinal and extremity corrections to help you achieve your fullest health. Chiropractic treatments may also include ultrasound or interferential electrical stimulation to reduce pain and muscle spasm. He also uses the Cox Method of flexion-distraction therapy to reduce lumbar or cervical disc protrusions. On rare occasions he may use acupressure (no needles here – just massage-like pressure).

Examinations
Dr. Glass performs thorough examinations on new patients, which include neurologic and orthopedic tests and possibly X-ray exams. To see and to test is to know. Not to see nor test is only to guess, and he will not guess with your health!

Blind Spot Mapping
Sometimes Dr. Glass performs Blind Spot Mapping. You’re not aware of the blind spots you have in the field of view of each eye, but they are easily mapped. And how big they are very much reflects the overall level of function of your brain. The bigger they are, the more depressed is your brain’s function, and large blind spots result very commonly from whiplash injuries. To complicate matters, the blind spot of one eye often ends up being much larger than that of the other eye, which indicates a marked imbalance of function between the hemispheres of the brain.

Spinal Exercises
Spinal exercises are nearly always required to restore normal strength to the neck and back, which restores normal stability to the spine. Dr. Glass may recommend other forms of exercise for the shoulders, arms, feet and legs to strengthen and stabilize these areas as well.

Ergonomics Instructions
Ergonomics is the study of how to perform activities of daily living efficiently without putting undo stress on the spine and body. Dr. Glass will make recommendations on such activities as lifting properly, sleeping and sitting properly, etc., so as to not aggravate your spinal problems.

Orthotics
Over 95% of our population gradually develops foot pronation (fallen arches) because most shoes on the market today have inadequate or absent arch support, and we all have to walk around on hard, flat man-made surfaces, such as concrete or asphalt.  This leads to stretched ligaments and weak muscles in the feet, which leads to pronation and pain in the feet, knees, legs, pelvis, and spine.  To correct this problem, Dr. Glass often prescribes the best orthotics (custom-fitted arch supports) in the world – those produced by Foot Levelers Inc.  He will check your feet to see if they’re contributing to your spinal problems.

Nutritional Advice
Dr. Glass may advise you about the importance of having a good diet to maintain your health. Because of modern farming techniques, industrial pollution, and other factors, our food supply today does not supply all the nutrients you need to maintain optimum health. Thus, everybody should be taking daily nutritional supplements.
